Swiss Women's National Team

The coaching change seems to have paid off: The Swiss women's national team with new head coach Daniela Diaz has won the four-nations tournament for the "Coupe de Noël" in Amiens (FRA).

After the shootout-loss against the Czech Republic and the win over France, Switzerland also beat Norway with 5-2 in their last game. As the Czech team lost against France, the Swiss could successfully defend their tournament title.

While Alina Müller was part of every goal against the French team (two goals, two assists), in the win over Norway, four different goalscorers (Lara Stalder (2), Dominique Rüegg, Andrea Fischer, Isabel Waidacher) as well as goalie Andrea Fischer, who remained without a goal against for over 100 minutes this weekend, made the difference.

New head coach of the Swiss team, Daniela Diaz, can be satistfied with her debut: "We have defined two goals before the tournament - play with passion and get to know each other - and we have met them both."

Next stop in the preparation for the World Championship 2016 in Kamloops (CAN) is the six-nations cup between January 2 and January 7 in Füssen (GER). The Swiss team will face Finland and Germany in their group. (dmo/lcu)
