Noemi Ryhner and her team laid the foundation for their victory in the first period, recording three goals: two by Linn Peterson and one by Josefine Persson.

While Lara Stalder's team managed to come within one with goals by Maja Nylén-Persson (assisted by Stalder) and Denisa Krizova, Petra Nieminen put an end to their chase with Luleå's fourth and fifth goal of the night, securing the SDHL team's fourth title in five years.

"We were so close and the arena was full of people who wanted to celebrate us. We couldn't make it happen," Stalder told SVT after the game, appearing to be gutted by the result: "I'm absolutely devastated. We had it in our hands, why do we give them three goals? We beat ourselves tonight, that's why they won."
