With a 2-0 victory in Game 5 against EHC Dübendorf last night, EHC Basel has won their semifinal series and will face HCV Martigny in the playoff final as of Saturday. The final series will not only answer the question of who is going to become the MSL's champion, but also of who is going to play in the league qualification afterwards.
Both EHC Basel and HCV Martigny have applied for a promotion to the Swiss League this season. The league, however, has yet to decide if they will give the green light or reject the applications.
