According to the Aftonbladet, the two parties are close to an agreement and it might even be a long-term deal for the 33-year-old forward. Apparently, his new contract might be valid for up to four seasons.
However, Klasen's agent Thomas Sjögren also makes clear that the SHL team is not the only team interested in his client: "Luleå has called me every year about Linus. We talk to each other. I can confirm that. But there are more options, both in Sweden and in Switzerland, for Linus."
Klasen, for his part, would not mind a return to his former team, as he tells the same source: "I really enjoyed being in Luleå. The city became like a second home to me." The forward is in his last contracted season with HC Lugano. He has not been offered a contract extension by the National League team.
