Nino Niederreiter suffered a cut injury in the game on April 1 and has been out of the Jets' lineup ever since. As he told the Jets' website yesterday, he was lucky he did not suffer a worse injury: “It was kind of a scary play. I felt something in my leg, but I didn’t know exactly what it was. So, I reached down a couple of times and felt some blood. It started getting warm. That’s when I knew I had to get off and see what’s up. I got extremely lucky. It nicked my Achilles a little bit. Had to get a few stitches. Glad I’m standing here right now.”

Niederreiter has appeared in 76 games for the Jets this season, recording 18 goals and 15 assists.
