Not activating his clause to play in North America, the forward will join the defending champion for at least one season.

Back on Swiss ice: Vincent Praplan

Despite having signed a 4-year-contract with SC Bern, Vincent Praplan still wanted to find a team in the NHL. The out clause in his contract would allow him to leave for North America each summer. For this summer, the 25-year-old has decided not to activate it and thus definitely join Bern for at least the upcoming season, as Le Matin reports.

A year ago, Praplan left EHC Kloten for the San Jose Sharks. However, he only ever got to play for their AHL-affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda. In Feburary, the forward was traded to the Florida Panthers, but again only played for the Springfield Thunderbirds in the AHL. In total, he made 41 games, recording six goals and 17 assists.
