National League

The 31-year-old forward will now live in London, Ontario (CAN), and start a new life.

It has long been clear that Alain Berger will not be able to suit up for SC Bern in the 2022-23 season, as the team was looking for a change. "Of course, I would have wished for a different conclusion in view of last season," Berger states. "But I was able to experience many great moments with SCB and am extremely proud of what I was able to achieve with the team."

As for his future, he and his family will live in Canada. He will pursue a career outside of hockey: "I have a plan and a few things lined up. But nothing is ready to be announced yet."

Berger is a product of SC Bern's organization and, with the exception of three and a half seasons in North America (OHL and AHL), has only ever played for SC Bern. In over 550 National League games, he recorded 31 goals and 45 assists. He won four championships and two cups with the Bears.
