Smirnovs, who is in possession of a Swiss players' license, is a product of Genève-Servette HC's organization. This season, the forward has recorded two goals and three assists in 31 games.
Joel Marchon, for his part, is currently playing in the QMJHL for the Charlottetown Islanders. He started the season with the Sherbrooke Phoenix and was recently traded to Charlottetown.
