National League

As of next season, the schedule of the National League might look a bit different.

Asked by Klaus Zaugg (Watson), Willi Vögtlin - the person responsible for planning the schedule - confirmed that there may be no more Sunday night games next season. While the audience on the platforms broadcasting these games was good, the clubs complained of less turnover for gastronomy.

"We are discussing postponing the live game to a weekday," states Vögtlin, who adds that Thursday evenings are favored. For free live broadcasting of those games, however, only Thursdays on which no European club football competitions are being televised come into question.

Moreover, other factors that will complicate the planning of the schedule are the fact that there will be four teams participating in the Champions Hockey League instead of three and that Genève-Servette HC will not be able to play home games till mid-October due to renovation works at Les Vernets.
