The loss against the Bellinzona Rockets proved to be too much. The Finnish head coach has been relieved of his duties.

After three and a half years, Teppo Kivelä will thus have to leave EHC Winterthur due to "the increasingly unsatisfactory sporting results and the faltering development of the team."

Kivelä will be replaced by current team manager Christian Weber. He will coach the team until the end of the season whilst still fulfilling his role as the team manager. Current assistant coach Frédéric Rothen will support him.

The team also announced another departure: Henrik Eriksson will leave EHC Winterthur in direction of Sweden. The forward was signed to a short-term deal as an injury replacement for Matt Fonteyne. In 10 games, he has recorded one goal.
