The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned Elvis Merzlikins to their AHL-affiliate, the Cleveland Monsters. This is the second time this season that the 25-year-old former HC Lugano-netminder has been sent down. According to Aaron Portzline (The Athletic), Merzlikins will get the start tonight with the Monsters and might return to Columbus before the end of the week.

In six games for the Blue Jackets, Merzlikins holds a 3.54 goals against average and a .890 save percentage. For the Monsters, he has suited up once, allowing two goals and stopping 93 percent of the shots.
