As the game was part of the Spengler Cup festivities, the organizers hoped to achieve a new attendance record for a Women's League game. That goal was reached, as 1,605 people watched the HCAP Girls beat the HCD Ladies 2-3 in overtime.
The HCAP Girls are currently third in the standings, and HCD fourth, the latter have played two games more this season, though.
