The expiring contract of the 31-year-old Canadian forward is not going to be extended by Lausanne HC.

That is what the player and LHC's team manager Jan Alston confirmed to Grégory Beaud (Sport-Center) today. "The club informed me that they want to go in a different direction. The leaders have made this clear to me. It's part of the business," Jeffrey said.

The 31-year-old forward, who joined Lausanne HC from the organization of the Arizona Coyotes in 2016, has appeared in a total of 180 National League games so far, recording 61 goals and 126 assists. He currently leads the team in scoring with 20 points (seven goals, 13 assists).

"It wasn't an easy decision," Jan Alston explained. "During our analyses, we came to the conclusion that with all the other contracted players we need to have a foreigner with a different profile."

Regarding Lausanne's roster for the 2020-21 season, Canadian forward Cory Emmerton is currently the only import-player with an ongoing contract. Those of defensemen Petteri Lindbohm ((FIN)) and Jonas Junland ((SWE)) are set to expire, too.
