The deficit of CHF 4.6 million remains despite the à-fonds-perdu contributions and the support from sponsors and fans, of which 35 percent have donated the money for their season tickets. Although HC Fribourg-Gottéron can further soften the blow with state loans of CHF 3.3 million, they will need to fill a hole of CHF 1.3 million.

Therefore, the club plans to call on their fans an players again, especially the fans who have decided to put their season tickets on credit: "Without their help, we won't have a team to fight for the title," Waeber says to La Liberté. "We will have to lower our budget further and we will be playing for 8th place," he insists.
