The Italian forward sustained a cruciate ligament rupture in the game against Switzerland last Saturday.

At the start of next seaon, HC Lugano will have to make do without Giovanni Morini, as the forward has to undergo surgery due to the torn ligament in his left knee. This will sideline him for about six to seven months, the Bianconeri inform.

Morini made 52 appearances for Lugano last season, recording 16 goals and five assists. The 24-year-old Italian has been a constant part of his country's national team over the last few years, but due to the injury has only played a bit under four minutes at this year's World Championship.
